FLAS FELLOWSHIPS
The U.S. Department of Education offers fellowships for learning Serbian through its FLAS (Foreign Language and Area Studies) Program. The fellowship serves to encourage the study of critical and less commonly taught foreign languages in combination with area studies, international studies or international aspects of professional studies. The amount of the award depends of the students' status (graduate or undergraduate) and the lenght of the fellowship (summer or full year). For example, $2,500 summer stipend, plus up to $5,000 tuition award for cost of language course only, or $15,000 annual stipend, plus tuition award of $18,000 or actual tuition if lower, for graduate students. Serbian Language and Culture Workshop is an eligible Serbian language institute for FLAS fellowships and you can use it to finance your short summer program in Serbia, a semester abroad, or even a full academic year. In order to apply for the FLAS fellowship, please:
1. obtain your letter off affiliation HERE by signing up for a program at Serbian Workhop in which you would like to participate (minimum 6 weeks),
2. get support from Serbian professors at your university,
3. contact your local FLAS coordinator for more info on further steps to get the fellowship and use it on an overseas language program in Serbia.

FULBRIGHT U.S. STUDENT PROGRAM
Fulbright offers a grant for open study/research in Serbia. The length of the grant is 9 months begining in October 2025 and ending in June 2026. A language training allowance is available to use at Serbian Workshop, as well as other benefits. Fullbright U.S. Student Program

CREEES (Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies) offers $2,000 in support for intensive summer language study in the US or abroad. Stanford Univesity
UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS - VEKICH SCHOLARSHIP
Vekich Scholars will be eligible to apply for fellowship support (up to two awards, $500 each) toward subsequent summer language study in the U.S., Bosnia, Croatia, or Serbia.

BOREN AWARDS
Boren Awards, an initiative of the National Security Education Program, provide funding opportunities for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to study Serbian as a less commonly taught language and underrepresented in study abroad. Boren Scholarships for undergraduates are up to $8,000 for a summer program (minimum 8 weeks), $10,000 for a semester and $20,000 for 6-12 months. Boren Fellowships for graduates provide up to $24,000 for language studies in Serbia.

10 STIPENDIJA ЅA LETNJU ŠKOLU SRPSKOG JEZIKA I KULTURE
od 14. jula do 2. avgusta 2019, Valjevo, Srbija
Ko se može prijaviti za stipendiju?
Na konkursu mogu učestvovati univerzitetski studenti koji studiraju srpski ili neki drugi slovenski jezik, književnost i kulturu na diplomskim i poslediplomskim studijama.
Šta je namena stipendije?
Stipendija se daje za pohađanje programa Letnje škole srpskog jezika i kulture od 14. jula do 2. avgusta 2019. godine, u Valjevu, u Srbiji. U program je uključeno:
1. 60 časova srpskog jezika,
2. 30 časova kulture,
3. materijali za Letnju školu,
4. smeštaj u dvokrevetnim sobama,
5. posteljina i peškiri,
6. dva obroka dnevno,
7. 2 ekskurzije,
8. besplatan pristup Internetu u školi.
Šta pokriva stipendija?
Stipendijski fond Radionice pokriva 50% školarine za Letnju školu (200€). Sredstva za stipendije su prikupljena od raznih kompanija, preduzetnika i pojedinaca u valjevskom regionu koji su zainteresovani promovisanjem srpskog jezika i kulture. Studenti su odgovorni za drugih 50% školarine za Letnju školu (399€) i treba da organizuju plaćanje preko drugih fondova i organizacija za podršku, ili samostalno.
Ima li ograničenja?
Ako studenti propuste više od 6 časova jezika, i/ili 3 časa kulture, i/ili 1 ekskurziju, njihova školarina i učestvovanje u Letnjoj školi biće obustavljeno.
Koji dokumenti su potrebni?
Molimo Vas da nam pošaljete sledeće:
1. registracioni list (može se skinuti odavde),
2. pismo preporuke od profesora srpskog ili nekog drugog slovenskog jezika/ književnosti/ kulture. Pismo treba da bude napisano na zvaničnom memorandumu obrazovne institucije, sa pečatom univerziteta/ fakulteta/ katedre,
3. motivaciono pismo u dva primerka: jedan na maternjem jeziku studenta, a drugi na srpskom (ili engleskom).

Kada je krajnji rok za prijave?
Prijave moraju biti poslate do 30. aprila 2019. Konačni rezultati konkursa za stipendije će biti objavljeni 15. maja 2018. Radionica za srpski jezik i kulturu će obavestiti pobednike i poslati im pozivna pisma običnom poštom i el-poštom.
